You Impostor! Applying RFT to Understand and Alleviate Impostor Syndrome
In this webinar, we'll dive into Relational Frame Theory to look at impostor syndrome. We'll get into the theory of why it's a pretty natural thing for first time supervisors to experience, and then work within the ACT Matrix to identify how behaving as "an impostor" constrains our behavior. Finally, we'll provide some useful practices for dealing with it so you can be the supervisor you're committed to being.
Participants will be able to
- Identify two types of relational responses that are theorized to play a pivotal role in impostor syndrome.
- Identify the components of the "ACT Matrix" that relate to positive and negative reinforcement principles.
